What is NMC?
The 33-member National Medical Commission (NMC) is an Indian regulatory organization that oversees medical professions and medical education. The Commission accredits medical schools, offers registration to medical professionals, recognizes medical degrees, monitors medical practice, and evaluates India’s medical infrastructure.
FMG Internships:
The National Medical Commission has published a list of medical schools and organizations authorised to host the Required Rotating Medical Internship CRMI for Foreign Medical Graduates, organized by state (FMGs).
The amount of FMG seats that were available in each college was also listed in the list that the medical commission released. After receiving several requests for information about these colleges, the list has been released.
According to the medical commission’s official announcement on the subject, the NMC has received several requests and complaints about the medical schools and institutions that are permitted to host the required rotating medical internship for international medical graduates.
A state-by-state updated list of recognized and approved medical colleges/institutes that are permitted to conduct Compulsory Rotating Medical Internships (CRMI) for foreign medical graduates has been released, according to Shambhu Sharan, director of the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB). The list also includes the number of FMG seats.
According to the published list, there is only one accredited college offering internships in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Sikkim.
